Global South Feminist Panel on International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women
November 18, 2024 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm

Salma Treish and Sally Rahimi are two UNC students dedicated to advocating for feminist perspectives. As part of their commitment to amplify the voices of marginalized communities, particularly those from the Global South, they are hosting a panel discussion in recognition of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. This event will take place on November 18, 2024, at 3 PM at Hanes Art Center 121, UNC Chapel Hill, with an option to join via Zoom.
They are honored to feature distinguished speakers, including Dr. Ariana Vigil, Rojin Mukriyan, Mahtab Mahboub, and Sabrina Rahim, who will share their perspectives on gender-based violence and the significance of transnational feminism.
This event will be a powerful opportunity for students, scholars, and activists to engage with diverse feminist perspectives that are often underrepresented. The organizers hope to create a welcoming space for insightful discussions on global efforts to end violence against women, challenges unique to the Global South, and how we can foster a more inclusive community through transnational feminist activism.
Please see the attached flyer for more details about the panelists and event objectives.
